At Girl on the Roof, being a LOUDMOUTH is a compliment, because it means that a business is helping a nonprofit shout its message. In addition to providing professional marketing services to a nonprofit in need, the LOUDMOUTH Program provides cause-marketing opportunities for businesses that desire to make a positive impact in their community.
Girl on the Roof has extensive experience working with government agencies, from towns and counties to states and the federal government. Girl on the Roof has a GSA certification that makes us eligible for federal contracts in marketing services, graphic design, video production, and website design.
Every marketing tool Girl on the Roof produces — logos, brochures, posters, impact reports, event programs, websites, cases for support, print and digital ads, post cards, and more — is compulsively outcomes-focused.
Principled businesses aren’t just about making money. They are purpose-driven and committed to making a positive impact on the world. GotR helps these businesses amplify their messages, exposure, and impact.

A new semester began this week at Johnson University, where I resumed my role as the professor for a Marketing and PR class. I went into the class fully prepared, syllabus in hand, ready to bestow great knowledge and insight. But it was I who left changed last night by a simple truth spoken by a guest speaker, Stanley Taylor, a beloved friend of mine from Knoxville Leadership Foundation.
I’ve often told people who work for me, “I don’t expect you to be perfect. We all make mistakes. It’s about how you respond to a mistake that matters.” I had a Project Coordinator named Melissa who was my eyes and ears at the main office of an ad agency in Louisville while I ran a satellite office in Cincinnati. She was fresh out of college and made her fair share of mistakes.
Dissertation coach Jessica Parker of Dissertation by Design approached Girl on the Roof to help her brand and market her business. At that time her business was steady, but she knew it had the potential to grow significantly. Jessica was inspired by Girl on the Roof’s LOUDMOUTH program and wanted some counsel on how she could develop a meaningful give-back model for her business.
