OtherWisz Creative was founded in 2000 as a sole proprietorship by Mark Wisz, an experienced graphic designer and web designer. Mark initially focused on clients in need of marketing services—primarily small businesses left behind by mismanaged startups during the dotcom bust—with brand identity and custom developed websites.

A fun and clever visual brand adds to the mystery. OtherWisz Creative was called to design a logo to revive this long-lost gin mill, formerly known as the Malamute Tavern. Tim & Morgan Stevens breathed new life into the throwback shot-and-a-beer joint by introducing craft beers and classic cocktails alongside house-made specialty sausage plates, soups, salads, and mac n’ cheese.
As a follow up to the Buffalo Sabres’ 40th Anniversary Exhibit, OtherWisz Creative developed a second exhibit to occupy the same display cases on the second-floor mezzanine in HSBC Arena. Borrowing items from the memorabilia collection of Joseph E. Gambacorta, DDS, founder of the Buffalo Hockey Experience + Museum, our design team came up with a new story to tell.
